I understand that Titus was very upset that his daughter's hands and tongue was viciously chopped off. But why does this seem to effect Titus so much? He has been in war for over a decade an experienced numerous deaths during that time. Not to mention almost all of his sons were killed, some of them even killed by himself! Does he have a special connection with Lavinia that caused this tragedy more pain to him? Or is it simply the principle and he just wants to seek revenge to prove a point?I also do not understand why is it so important that if Titus chops his own hands he gets two dead bodies in return? Hoe does that make him feel better about what has hapend to his daughter?
