The young man begins to jog because his boss told him to and he states he's an American. It looks like the boss doesn't care where he was born, that his background is Mexican. Did the boss ask him to run to buy something for him because he was given a dollar?
No, I believe his boss told him to run away from the border patrol and gave him a dollar as money to survive for a little bit. If you refer back to the conversation between him and his boss. The boss is telling him to jump over the fence but the guy replies by saying he is American. Clearly the guy is not expected to come back to the boss with something in hand.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the man is an illegal immigrant who just crossed the border. He may have wanted to have a good life in United states. The boss then gave him money so that he can survive until he finds a job.
ReplyDeletei agree with the two comments above normally when immigrants come to america its because they didn't have a life that satisfied them financially. so the dollar could have symbolized him running to America for an opportnity to stable himself financially.
ReplyDeleteI think that the boss was so used to his workers being illegal emigrants when the border patrol came he without thinking thought that he is also an immigrant and handed him a dollar and the worker thought hmm a dollar and a day off from work i can jog with them :)
