"Night Thoughts" Helen Simpson
This story puzzles me how in the world this poor man can stand that woman, i think everyone will agree with me that he does not have to live such cruel and directed life, he needs to take charge of his own life and his family's life and stop worrying about that bitch he calls wife. Considering the fact that his wife owns a third husband which is much younger than her I concluded that she have done the same thing to all previous husbands and drained them from power, life,self esteem and probably financially too. what you think class?

ReplyDeleteI agree with you. But he is such a great guy that he doesn't have the strength to leave his wife. He loves his children so much that he just sucks it up and forces himself to live with such a cruel wife. What he needs to do is break the chain and take control of his life, wife and children. He needs to be 'The Man" in the family not the woman. Once she is finally put in her plpace and he stands up for himself his son will be happy and probably stop cutting himself, and his daughter will respect him a lot more as well as his wife. I bet she would never again treat him or anyone else badly ever again if he put a little fear in her and took control.
