I think that the teacher was trying to show the boy indirectly that he is no different then any other race. Also that he is no different then anyone else

    That is a valid interpretation - the written words will reveal who the student is as a person. And it is quiet possible that the instructor sees the student as an individual and not an individual of a particular race. Is that what you are pointing to?

    yes! basically that is work is equally accepted and he is looked at the same by the teacher
